A PATCH THAT HAS TRAVELLED ON THE ISS IN THE HEART OF A UNIQUE JACKET
Spacefox imagined, designed and developed this jacket around the patches sent to the International Space Station aboard the Crew Dragon of the CRS 23 mission. To echo the construction of the ISS and its various modules, the ISS bomber is modular, with all its parts fitting together to form a single piece housing at its heart a rare space-faring relic. It took two years of development to bring the ISS bomber to life, and we're proud to present a uniquely designed piece that blends sobriety and complexity.
A WITNESS TO HUMAN SPACE HISTORY
On August 29, 2021 at 07:17 UTC, on launch pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center, which saw the departure of the Apollo 11 mission in 1969, Space X's Falcon Heavy lifts off in the direction of the International Space Station, carrying 455 patches created by Spacefox. The purpose of this CRS-23 mission is to resupply the astronauts and the ISS with supplies and equipment.
The International Space Station orbits the Earth at an altitude of between 370 and 460 km. Traveling 27,600 km per hour, it completes one revolution every 93 minutes, or just over 15 per day. Each patch has thus completed 479 revolutions around the Earth.
an incomparable modular product
The ISS bomber can be completely disassembled, with the sleeves attached to the bust by a series of snap fasteners, as is the hood. The harness, meanwhile, is attached to the jacket by a powerful invisible magnet system, giving the piece its technical touch. The right-hand inside pocket detaches to become a satchel matching the rest of the bomber.
