Meteorites, really?

Meteorites on Earth, how is that possible?

Meteorites are fragments of asteroids, the Moon, Mars... After being ejected into space by collisions or violent events, some fragments are drawn in by Earth's gravity. If they survive their passage through the atmosphere and reach the ground, they become meteorites.

How do we source our meteorites?

We collaborate exclusively with Luc Labenne, one of the world's leading meteorite experts and hunters, whose work is a reference for the scientific community. This exceptional partnership allows us to offer authentic meteorites with perfectly documented provenance and traceability certified to the highest standards.

Who certifies meteorites?

All the meteorites adorning our jewelry are analyzed, authenticated, and certified by the Meteoritical Society, the international reference body responsible for cataloging and classifying meteorites. Their provenance can be consulted in its official database.

How are meteorites analyzed?

A meteorite is identified in a specialized laboratory using high-precision chemical and mineralogical analyses. These analyses make it possible to establish its geochemical signature, compare it with different types of meteorites, and assign it to a specific group.

In our bracelets: We use fragments of the NWA 16267 meteorite, discovered in 2022 in northwest Africa, in the heart of the Sahara. Its original mass was 1977g.

In our rings: We use fragments of the NWA 11472 meteorite, discovered in 2017 in northwest Africa. Its original mass was 840g.

During a violent collision on the surface of the Moon, rock fragments are ejected into space. Some may, over time, eventually reach Earth and, after passing through the atmosphere, become lunar meteorites.

Lunar meteorites represent 0.06% of all meteorites discovered.

MARTIAN METEORITE

It was in 2020, in northwest Africa, in the heart of the Sahara, that the NWA 13925 meteorite was discovered. Its original mass was 1250g.

When a major eruption occurs on Mars, if it is powerful enough, fragments of Martian rock can be ejected into space. Over time, some may cross Earth's orbit and be pulled in by its gravity. Upon passing through the Earth's atmosphere and reaching the ground, these fragments become Martian meteorites.

Martian meteorites represent 0.04% of all meteorites discovered.

Eucrite meteorite

It was in 2020, in northwest Africa, in the heart of the Sahara, that the NWA 16250 meteorite was discovered. Its original mass was 5.88kg.

Vesta is one of the largest asteroids in our solar system. Following a collision with another asteroid, many fragments were ejected into space. Over time, some ended up reaching Earth. We call them HED-type meteorites.

Eucrite-type meteorites represent 3% of discovered meteorites.

BLACK CHONDRITE METEORITE

It was in 1997, in northwest Africa, in the heart of the Sahara, that the SAHARA 97181 meteorite was discovered. Its original mass was 2.23 kg.

During a violent collision between two asteroids several kilometers in diameter, rock fragments were ejected into space. Over time, some ended up crossing the atmosphere and reaching Earth, thus becoming meteorites.

Black Chondrite meteorites represent 4% of all meteorites discovered.

MESOSIDERITE METEORITE

It was in 2020, in northwest Africa, at the foot of the Atlas mountain range, that the NWA 13912 meteorite was discovered. Its original mass was 11.85 kg.

There are numerous celestial objects traveling through our universe, particularly in the asteroid belt located between Mars and Jupiter. Sometimes, it happens that some collide. When a metallic asteroid (its core) strikes a eucrite-type asteroid, the result is a mixture of rock and metal. Over time, some debris may eventually fall to Earth and thus become mesosiderite meteorites.

Mesosiderite-type meteorites represent 1% of discovered meteorites.

MUONIONALUSTA METEORITE

The Iron-Fine Octahedrite meteorite with the serial number Muonionalusta was discovered in Sweden in 1906. Its original mass was 230 kg.

During a violent collision between two asteroids several kilometers in diameter, fragments of rock are ejected into space. Some, over time, eventually passed through the atmosphere and reached Earth, thus becoming meteorites.

Spacefox

An adventure guided by the stars >

Spacefox was born in 2019. Driven by Amixem’s momentum and a team of space enthusiasts, the adventure began with a simple yet powerful idea: to bring space closer to each one of us.

Very quickly, Spacefox became much more than a project: an invitation to dream bigger, to look up at the sky, and to carry a fragment of the universe into one's daily life.

In 2021, this ambition took shape with the Collision project: bracelets made in France, set with genuine, authenticated, and certified meteorite fragments. Pieces of infinity fallen from the sky, now accessible, worn on the wrist as an intimate connection to space.

Since then, Spacefox has continued to explore, create, and innovate, with a single desire: to awaken wonder, day after day, and to remind us that the universe is never as far away as it seems.
